Pulau Tiga （迪加岛）

I have been sampling in Pulau Tiga for the last 2 weeks. This is the 2nd sampling of my research in Sabah area. Really have a great, nice, challenging, unforgettable, memorable experience there.

In 1978, Pulau Tiga is gazetted as a Marine Park, which covers an area of 158 squarekm (96% is sea rich with coral reefs). The Park consists of 3 islands, namely, Pulau Tiga (Survivor Island) being the main island, Pulau Kalampunian Besar (Sands Spit Island) and Pulau Kalampunian Damit (Snake Island). To visit Pulau Tiga, just drive 2.5 hours, about 114km from Kota Kinabalu city (KK) to Kuala Penyu town, then take a 20-minute boat ride to reach the island 15km away. Another way to go in is direct make booking with the only resort inside the island "Pulau Tiga Resort", they will arrange the transportation.

From Kota Kinabalu, i took the bus that go to Menumbok to Kuala Penyu. But actually the bus jz stop me in the Kuala Penyu junction there, and asked me to wait for minibus/van that go to Kuala Penyu. So I'm waited there about half an hour, still didn't see any minibus/van, luckily i meet a nice "pegawai pelajaran" there, he take me and brought me to his office for lunch. I really thanks him and the other staffs there. Then i stay in Sabah Parks quarter for one night, only went in Pulau Tiga.

Sampling alone is quite challenging. Many people did ask me "u dun scare alone" or will said "u r brave ah ... alone here" and normally my answer will be ~ a smile to them. Fortunately, i meet all the nice people there ... because i'm alone, they take care of me, they help me, they guide me, they talk to me, so have to give a big THANK YOU to them :) ... especially for my diving buddies, thanks for help me a lot, although the result not so good.

Pulau Tiga is really a nice place, if you want to relax, then may be you can take a vacation to Pulau Tiga, there is place where u can really rest. I like the view of Pulau Tiga the most. There are difference nice scenes in difference time. You can see it thought the pictures below.

Sunset is the most beautiful scene there ... you can really saw the sun like a egg yolk going down to the sea ... i really love it.

There is one thing special in Pulau Tiga - the Mud Volcano. Need to jungle trekking aboout 1.1km to the mud volcano (Trail is behind the Pulau Tiga Resort). At first I'm quite scare to go in, but once go in, you will jz floating in the mud, its quite interesting.

Lastly, i want to thanks all the staffs there ... En. Affendi, Simon, Jumaidi, Nic, Papa topup, Hafiz, Abg Kassim, Wan and the others. I can't remember all those name, so here r the name that i knew. Anyway, thank you to u all for everythings. I know I'm gonna miss there, miss diving, miss bbq, miss pulau tiga. Hope can be there and see u all again.
